The Diocese of Phoenix is encouraging others to take part in a free 30-minute event called "Night of Hope" to learn about Catholic schools within the diocese with donation opportunities to help students in need.

According to the Diocese of Phoenix, the Night of Hope event is virtual and will take place on Thursday, Nov. 4 from 6 to 6:30 pm. Registration is free. Last year, the event raised almost $1 million to support students in need, according to Catholic Schools of Phoenix.

“We are so proud of our students and educators providing a great Catholic education to them, the Diocese of Phoenix said in an Oct. 29 Facebook post. "When you register for this year’s #NightOfHope, a free 30-minute virtual event, you can give your local school credit for your registration. The school with the highest percentage of attendance will win an extra $5000 for tuition assistance! Learn more at nightofhopephx.com.”

According to Private School Review, the average tuition cost of Catholic schools in Arizona is $7,228.

“There are 29 Catholic elementary schools and 7 Catholic high schools in the Diocese of Phoenix, located in nearly every part of the state," the Diocese of Phoenix said in an Oct. 27 Facebook post. "While every Catholic school community is unique, each offers a rigorous curriculum while educating the total child – spirit, mind, and body – in a loving, faith-filled environment.”

The Catholic Schools Phoenix website states that this years' event content will highlight content on faith, family and future.

People interested in donating to the Diocese of Phoenix can do so at any time through the Diocesan 365 Fund, which helps students attend Catholic schools when they might not be able to otherwise. Donations can be a one-time gift or a recurring gift, according to the Diocese of Phoenix.
