In the midst of the COVID-19 outbreak, students from Xavier College Preparatory have been reaching out with love and support to those in need.
One student, Mauela Kriemler, from the class of 2021, said that she wanted to help those who could not safely leave their homes with tasks such as grocery shopping, according to the school’s Facebook page.
“During this pandemic, it can be hard to help those around us; however, this unexpected opportunity forced me to think outside of the box to help my community,” Kriemler said. “A list of online grocery shopping methods was created so that the elderly can stay #safeathome. I am happy to help those in my community. Stay safe and please consider doing the same in your neighborhood!”
Kriemler shared information on how seniors could make their own grocery orders online. In addition to offering to help over the phone with questions, she offered to do the grocery shopping for free, should the individuals be too confused or unable to make the purchases on their own.
