The Diocese of Phoenix is hosting a special exhibit from Friday through Monday on the Eucharist and Eucharistic miracles.

"As part of the National Eucharistic Revival, the Vatican Exhibit of Eucharistic Miracles is coming to Phoenix,” the diocese said on its website. “There will be many stops on the way. See amazing displays for yourself — no need to travel to Rome!”

The exhibit comes on the heels of the feast day of Blessed Carlo Acutis. Blessed Carlo was devoted to the Eucharist and developed a website to view and read about all the miracles around the world, and he created and designed the exhibit.

Catholic News Agency (CNA) published an article by Francesca Pollio Fenton on the life of Blessed Carlo. Carlo was born in 1991in London before shortly thereafter moving with his family to Milan, Italy.

He was diagnosed with leukemia when he was very young. CNA says Carlo offered his sufferings up for Pope Benedict XVI and the Church. “I offer all the suffering I will have to suffer for the Lord, for the Pope, and the Church,” Carlo said at the time. Carlo had a special devotion to God and the sacraments, even though his parents weren’t particularly devout. He had a special devotion for the Eucharist and traveled to many different sites where Eucharistic miracles have taken place.

The Eucharistic Miracles exhibit is coming to the Diocese of Phoenix after being on display in Italy at more than 500 parishes, the Diocese of Phoenix website says. After stopping in Phoenix at multiple parishes, it will be moving on to different dioceses around the world.

The Diocese of Phoenix defines a Eucharistic miracle as, "extraordinary events or phenomena, which manifest the Real Presence of Jesus in the consecrated bread and wine in a way that we can discern with our ordinary senses. The manifestation may be as simple as a host floating on air or as astonishing as a host becoming visible human flesh." The exhibit, a virtual tour of all the miracles, features 47 different miracles that have occurred over 1,500 years and includes those from Europe, Asia and the Americas.

Parishes in or around the Diocese of Phoenix are welcome to ask about bringing the exhibit to their school by emailing Angeline at EucharisticMiraclesArizona@gmail.com.
