FRANCISCAN RENEWAL CENTER: Apache Fair Trade Crafts

Announcements

Press release submission Nov 19, 2020

Apaachi

Franciscan Renewal Center issued the following announcement on Nov. 17.

During COVID-19, life has been difficult on the San Carlos Apache Reservation. To limit the spread of the virus, the reservation has been on a tight lockdown. This restricts crafters from selling their handcrafts both within and outside of the community. The pandemic has also curtailed sales of Apache crafts at the FRC. Usually the ministry team members sell to visitors who are here for retreats or meetings held by other nonprofits.

To help our Apache brothers and sisters, we suggest a new way to purchase Apache crafts. Please visit the co-op's eBay Store to view handmade items made by both San Carlos and White Mountain Apaches. https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40... To be sure they are made by our crafting co-op members, look for the tag. These will make wonderful Christmas gifts.
