Pastor Don Kline of St. Bernadette Roman Catholic Parish in Scottsdale recently wrote to parishioners about the lessons to be imparted by All Saints Day.
“As I get to know the holy men and women who are now Saints in heaven, I am inspired by their heroic lives,” Kline said in the parish's Nov. 1 bulletin. “How did these ordinary people end up living such extraordinary lives?”
Kline offered that, ultimately, it was not by their own virtue that saints attained such acts and actions, but through their love of God.
“A love (that was) often fostered by spending time in His Real Presence in Eucharist Adoration,” Kline said.
He then offered some words from various saints in regard to the Eucharist.
“The greatest love story of all time is contained in a tiny white Host,” Fr. Kline quoted from Archbishop Fulton Sheen.
“Nowhere does Jesus hear our prayers more readily than in the Blessed Sacrament,” he also quoted from the Blessed Henry Susson.
