Parishioners of St. Andrew the Apostle Roman Catholic Church in Sierra Vista were recently presented with the importance of attitude.
Pastor Gregory Adolf wrote in the Nov. 1 bulletin about the words of Charles Swindall, a Protestant theologian, regarding the effects of attitude.
"The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life," Adolf quoted Swindall. "Attitude is more important than facts. It is more important than past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do."
In circumstances where all other factors are outside of one’s control, the attitude with which one approaches those circumstances is the one thing that they can control.
"We cannot change the past," Fr. Adolf quoted Swindall. "We cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We cannot change the inevitable. The only thing that we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude."
