Saint James Roman Catholic Parish issued the following announcement on Oct. 25
“You shall love God with your whole heart… you shall love your neighbor as yourself.” All Christian laws are based on these two statements. Love is at the root of all our activities and at the foundation of our motivation. Love ensures the stability of a happy marriage and makes one cherish life as a religious. Love makes a person rise early in the morning to go to work. Love drives the faithful to church on Sunday to go to praise and thank the Lord. Love covers a multitude of things.
Love is not blind but rather super-sighted. Love places itself in a position to be called forth. Love helps us through our struggles to make the world a better place despite our difficult past experiences. Once we are free from human slavery and free from the slavery of sin, we should also help others. Francis Bacon once said, “In love there is excess.” Whatever is bad for the master is not good for a slave.
Jesus himself sets for us the basis of love; a person can have no greater love than to lay down one’s life for ones friends (Jn 5:13). Holiness, therefore, is love coined into conduct. Fall in love with God today and do whatever you want.
