Meet Sue Klein of St. Francis Xavier in Phoenix. | St. Francis Xavier Catholic Community/Facebook
St. Francis Xavier, a Jesuit Parish & School in Phoenix, wants you to meet a Sue Klein, a member of their parish community.
Sue and her husband Tom became active in the parish by being a part of the Social Justice Committee, serving on the Parent Association and School Board, and taking part in prayer groups. The Kleins raised two daughters who attended St. Francis Elementary School and Xavier College Preparatory.
Sue reflected in the Oct. 18 parish bulletin about her upbringing that brought her to the church community.

"Although I was born in the Valley when my father was stationed at Luke Air Force Base, I do not consider myself a true 'native Arizonian' as I did not live here long enough to remember anything," she said. "I moved in and out of the country many times until landing in Austin, Texas; where my father retired from the Air Force. I attended college and law school in Texas. It was at Baylor Law School, while attending the local Catholic Church, that I met Tom, a true 'native Phoenician.' We were married about one year later."
When Sue and Tom moved back to Phoenix they immediately became members of the St. Francis Community.
"It was when Tom was called to become a Deacon that my involvement in the parish grew," Sue said. "I was able to retire from my legal job, and Tom and I became involved in Marriage Preparation and English Baptisms. I also assist with annulments and the Ignatian Family Faith Formation program. It has been an exciting and humbling journey. I am blessed and grateful for the support of all the parishioners at St. Francis."
St. Francis Xavier has Mass Monday - Friday at 6:15 a.m. and noon, Saturday at 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., Sunday at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m., and also a Sunday Spanish service at 1 p.m.
