In a recent bulletin of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Phoenix, Jen Arnold addressed parishioners on the subject of stewardship and talent.
Much as the Holy Spirit came on the early disciples with the gift of tongues, exemplifying Jesus’ exhortation that the disciples go forth and spread the Gospel to the people of all nations, so also is each individual among the faithful gifted with talents from God, Arnold noted in the church's Oct. 18 bulletin.
“Last year, you may have evaluated how you could use your talents better to serve God and others, only to find that the instability of 2020 either thwarted your attempts or distracted you from your intended commitment,” Arnold said in the bulletin. “I think that happened for many of us.”
Yet, in that challenge, many may have also discovered talents they did not know they had, and Arnold invited the congregation to consider new ways in which they can offer their talents in service, regardless of the outward circumstances.
