The Rev. Raj Britto encouraged his congregation to trust in the teaching power of Jesus.

People saw Jesus as someone who held authority because of how He spoke and what He did to help others, but the root of His "authority" was God who came down upon Jesus through the Holy Spirit during His baptism; Britto, the pastor of Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Parish in Prescott, said in the Sept. 20 parish bulletin. God was working through Jesus, and the power of God's love gave Jesus the "authority" that people were drawn to.

"We are happy to submit to His authority, to His Lordship, because we recognize that in doing so we will have life to the full," Britto said. "Man can be freed from all the evil forces by the power of Jesus."

Jesus heals us because he teaches us not to exclude anyone and to live with goodness, forgiveness and love; Fr. Britto concluded
