St. Mary Roman Catholic Church in Kingman shared a reflection about God's love in their Sept. 13 bulletin. 

Michael Moore O.M., explained in practical terms how amazing it is to find that which was lost, such as a set of keys.

“We search and look for them until we find them and there is a sense of relief and even joy when we find them," Moore said in the bulletin. "We might even go and tell others we have found what we had lost."

In a similar way, we read that Christ told the parable of how God rejoices when the lost sheep are found. 

“In the gospel, Jesus is in the company of those he feels happiest with; the tax collectors and sinners," Moore said. "But typically the self-righteous Pharisees lodge their formal complaint, ‘look this man even eats with sinners.’ While they complain, the sinners are happy to sit and enjoy the company of Jesus." Rather than being with the religious elite, Jesus spent his days with the sinners that most of the religious looked down on, because they were lost. 

Just in the same way that we look for our keys until we find them, God will never give up on pursuing us and a relationship with us. 

“God loves each of us personally, passionately and intimately," Moore said. "When we can admit and recognize that we have lost our way, God comes running to find us. Like the father, God sees us coming a way long off, is moved to pity, clasps his arms around us and kisses us tenderly. God rejoices when we return to home to where we belong."

As we contemplate God’s character of steadfast love, let us remember that our Savior cares for us personally and intimately. He will wait for us to come to him because he is patient.
