Queen of Peace Roman Catholic Church in Mesa shared a reflection from the pastor on spending time in God's Word in the Sept. 6 bulletin.
The Rev. Thomas Bennett asked his parishioners how often they took time to read the Scriptures.
“Is Sunday the only day of the week that you hear His Word at Mass or do you spend a little time each day reading and reflecting on it?” Bennett said.
While these questions may make us feel guilty initially or overwhelmed, it is important that we examine our hearts to see that reading the Scriptures is important to our spiritual lives.
“I would like to invite you to open a Bible in your home to the Gospel of Matthew and leave it in a prominent place where you can stop and read a passage or a page in a few minutes each day and have that as food for thought and a chance to know Jesus more,” Bennett said.
