St. Charles Borromeo Parish Peoria recently issued the following announcement.
Grief is not an illness or a disease. It is a normal reaction to the death of someone you love. You grieve deeply because you love deeply. Grief is the process by which healing takes place but it can be hard work! Our Catholic faith can be a tremendous source of strength in helping us through this difficult journey. Bereavement ministry tries to be the compassionate heart and hands of our Lord Jesus.
No one can really feel or remove another’s pain, but everyone can walk beside and support another who is sorrowful. Those involved in our Bereavement Ministry find that in supporting others, our own faith is nourished and deepened.
The mission of the Bereavement Ministry of St. Charles Borromeo Parish is to assist in the healing process by providing support for any individual who has experienced the death of a loved one. This outreach is facilitated by our members who offer a compassionate, consoling and encouraging presence thereby manifesting Christ’s mercy, hope and love during periods of pain and sorrow. We are starting this new ministry in our parish.
We ask you to prayerfully consider this wonderful ministry as part of your faith journey. Please contact Ms. Karen Crowe at 602 576 5949.
