St. Francis Xavier in Phoenix shared an introduction of Youth Ministry Coordinator Katrina Winn in the church's Sept. 6 bulletin.

Winn is the coordinator of youth ministry at the church and grew up in the faith. Though she fell away in high school and college— attending Arizona State University— she found herself attracted back to the faith and a career serving God, despite her attempts to escape.

Turning away from law school, Winn took some time off and returned to Gonzaga University, choosing to work at a Catholic pregnancy center and take classes online in her off time.

“I continued volunteering and leading the youth group at my church for nearly ten years before accepting the position of youth minister here at St. Francis Xavier,” Winn said.

Despite the roundabout way in which it happened, Winn is grateful to God for her relationship with the church and her calling to work with young people.
