St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church in Avondale shared a recent note from their pastor updating the church on news.

The Rev. John Muir wrote that Bishop Olmsted decided to assign the Rev. Christopher Gossen to St. Thomas Aquinas as the new Parochial Vicar.

Fr. Gossen previously was at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Glendale and was ordained in June 2019. 

St. Thomas Aquinas now has three priests: the Rev. Anwar Zomaya, Fr. Gossen and Fr. Muir.

Secondly, the faith formation programs were set to begin on Aug. 15.

“This includes all Sacrament preparation, catechetics, and youth ministry,” Fr. Muir said in the note. “It also includes our new, upcoming adult faith formation offerings.”

Finally, Fr. Muir offered his gratitude to those who took part in the matching donation to the Faith Direct platform.

“This will really help us get through this COVID crisis,” Fr. Muir said in the note.
