Catholic Education Arizona (CEA) recently teamed up with global health service provider Cigna to help families handle education expenses.

CEA has a long history of helping students to gain access to education through scholarships for the primary and secondary schools of their choice, and they have joined with Cigna HealthCare of Arizona Inc. to further help students in Arizona.

“We are proud to partner with Catholic Education Arizona in supporting the development of future generations of students to build stronger and healthier communities," Brad Anderson, Cigna's vice president of Sales in Arizona, said in a release issued on the CEA website. "Working together, we can provide students in Arizona the opportunity to thrive and be successful and turn their visions for a brighter future for all into reality."

Over the past year, the engagement efforts of Arizona’s Cigna employees helped newborn babies, individuals with chronic diseases, and many more, the release reported.

“As a global health service company, Cigna’s mission is to improve the health, well-being, and peace of mind of those we serve," Anderson said in the release. "It’s this mission that guides our actions and innovations. As a committed member of this community, we strongly believe it is our responsibility to serve as a leader in health improvement and beyond. Improving health is at the heart of everything we do.”

In joining forces with Cigna Health, CEA will have more resources to dedicate to its scholarship programs, which are paid in part by taxpayer donations.

Ninety-nine percent of CEA-assisted students graduate from high school and 97% move on to post-secondary education or military service, the CEA website said. The tax credit provided by CEA helps Arizona families to obtain a “quality, Catholic education for their children.” The website also reported that college educated adults in Arizona have contributed $660,000 to the state’s economy and reduced federal spending by $21 billion.
