Two members of the St. Anthony of Padua Parish ministry in Casa Grande said farewell to the congregation in the June 28 church bulletin.
Fr. Callistus Iyorember was reassigned to St. Thomas the Apostle Parish in Tuscon, while St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School Principal Sister Carol Seidl is moving on to Holy Family Convent in Manitowoc, Wisconsin.
“From the depth of my heart, I would like to thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to be part of your wonderful family here at St. Anthony’s,” Iyorember wrote in the St. Anthony of Padua bulletin. “Be assured of my continuous prayer for you and your family. Always remember that God is good, all the time.”
As a goodbye prayer to the congregation, Iyorember wrote from Numbers 6:24-26: “May the Lord be with you and keep you. The Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you, the Lord lift up his countenance upon you and give peace.”
Seidl looked back fondly on her five years at St. Anthony.
“It has been a real blessing being here with you these past five years,” she wrote in the St. Anthony of Padua bulletin. “You are great. I thank God for you and how supportive you have been in my ministry as principal of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic School. You made my ministry a lot easier.”
Seidl recalled fundraisers and cookouts and praised the Knights of Columbus and Catholic Daughters.
“Always being there when I needed an extra hand was greatly appreciated,” she wrote in the bulletin. “You are a blessing to this parish, our school and to me.”
Seidl will study theology and scripture at the convent, be a driver for older sisters, wash dishes and shovel snow.
“The following year, I hope to be in a parish doing some type of ministry,” she wrote.
