St. Mary’s Food Bank needs donations for an upcoming food drive set for May 4 at Notre Dame Preparatory High School.
Those donating can drop off goods between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. by going into the school where cones are typically present, the school announced on its website. They can then leave school property after driving just past the cafeteria. Drivers and donors are urged to stay inside of their car and allow the volunteers, who will be wearing gloves, to remove the donations from their trunk.
According to Notre Dame Preps website, the top 10 items needed are:
Cereal- boxes and cereal bars - whole grain and low sugar; rice- no bulk bags, please; beans- canned or dried; tuna- canned or vacuum-packed;
Canned soup, stews, chili and pastas; diapers- children & adult sizes; juice- canned, plastic or boxed;
Peanut butter; canned fruits & vegetables, and; pasta
St. Mary’s Food Bank is also accepting monetary donations. Parents can donate via the Smart Tuition platform.
All proceeds will help St. Mary’s Food Bank, which is instrumental in assisting locals in need from the elderly to the homeless and families who simply need help.
